Nick checks in with Ben Holen, NDG&F ANS Coordinator on the status of invasive species in ND's waters and the upcoming ANS awareness week May 3 through May 9, getting anglers and boaters ready for the openwater season and what they can do to curb the spread of nasties like zebra mussels on the state's waters. 

Nick Previews the first weekend of May and some great conditions for early season fishing along with the upcoming River Road Cleanup efforts of the Barnes County Wildlife Federation. 

Nick catches up with Calvin Clauson of Scheels on what lures, augers, sonar and other ice fishing gear are flying off the shelves as the season gets going in this week's installment of Our Outdoors Radio. 

Nick previews the chilly, ice-making weekend of Dec. 12-14 and catches up with Furbearer Biologist Stephanie Tucker of the NDG&F Department for more on the short 2025 river otter trapping season and the status of the riverine mammals in the state. 

Nick chats with Fisheries Supervisor Bryan Sea of the NDG&F to get a status report on Lake headed into the early ice season. An abundance of walleyes headed into winter should provide fast action for ice anglers this year.   

Nick previews the first weekend of December and some good ice making conditions while catching up with Cayla Bendel, NDG&F R3 Coordinator with the details on the agency's new HuntLink program. 

Nick takes a look around the southeast district of North Dakota with Fisheries Supervisor BJ Kratz of the North Dakota Game & Fish Department for hotspots loaded with walleyes, crappies, bluegills and perch for the upcoming hardwater season. 

Nick previews the Thanksgiving weekend and some good conditions for holiday hunting while getting the latest on the bird flu flare up in migratory waterfowl from NDG&F Wildlife Veterinarian Logan Weyand. 

Closing out the firearms deer season, Nick reaches out to David Stockdill, Regional Representative for the Mule Deer Foundation to get a status report on ND's muleys and what's new with the organization in terms of habitat and access projects.
